Peter McCaffrey, MD, serves as chief AI officer and director of Laboratory Information Services, Pathology Informatics, and Division of Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence for the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He is a co-founder of Pragma Bio, which helps discover new medicines, and former CEO of Accetia, which develops next-generation sequencing analysis for small laboratories. He completed his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a master of science degree from Stanford University. He served as chief resident of Massachusetts General Hospital.
